Our organization was founded to support pets who need homes in the North Texas communities of Azle, Springtown, Lake Worth, Weatherford and nearby areas. To adopt a pet, you must live within driving distance of the DFW metroplex.

Many of the dogs and virtually all the cats and kittens come from the Pelican Bay Animal Shelter. If you live in or near the Azle area, this little shelter is always in need of caring helpers for food transport, animal transport and shelter maintenance. Directions

1. From Loop 820 north of Fort Worth, take Jacksboro Hwy. 199 West for approximately 10 miles to the FM 730 North Boyd exit. (You pass Harris Hospital NW on your right.)
2. After exiting onto the service road, turn right on 730N and go about 2 miles to Sandy Beach Rd. (the second gas station - Shamrock).
3. Turn right on Sandy Beach Rd. and go approximately 2 miles to Liberty School Rd. (the little donut shop white/green roof).
4. Turn right on Liberty School Rd. to the Stop sign.
5. Turn left. This street goes directly into the city hall parking lot. Park at city hall and walk around the back to the shelter.
